Many school systems across Georgia have taken the initiative and implemented STEM programs within existing schools or opened dedicated STEM schools. STEM Schools highlight many of these schools and programs.

In 2009, one school system from each Georgia Congressional District was awarded a three year Title II D Technology Grant to implement a STEM program. Specific criteria designated by the grant allowed school systems to apply for the competitive monies. Since each school served by the grant is to develop a model program, these schools are titled our STEM Title IID ARRA Schools.
